Scarecrows, Sports and Soaring Hawks A Tatton Park

Ready… set… go! This year’s famous Scarecrow Festival at Tatton Park takes on a sporty twist. Get active exploring the farm and gardens as you hunt down the many athletic scarecrows, from rowing and throwing to curling, serving, kickflips, backflips, high kicks and wickets! On weekends, enjoy stories about life down on the farm with Aunty Mary and the Miller.

Over the final weekend of half term, Tatton Park will also be celebrating the humble pancake with some flipping fun! Discover where your pancake ingredients come from, meet the chickens who laid the eggs, explore the Mill to learn about flour, and see the fresh milk straight from the shippon. Enjoy pancake-making demonstrations and join the have-a-go flipping competitions at 12pm, 1pm, and 2pm.

The adventure continues with the Mini Land Rover Junior Ranger Trail! Young explorers aged 5–9 can take the wheel of their very own Mini Land Rover on an off-road woodland adventure, completing ten fun Ranger missions along the way. Each checkpoint teaches real outdoor skills and helps children earn their Junior Ranger Badge — the perfect mix of nature, learning, and excitement.

And if that’s not enough, soar to new heights on a Hawk Walk on Sunday 22nd February. Get up close with majestic birds of prey, learn about their hunting techniques, and even experience the thrill of flying them yourself!

Big Moon. Big Events. Big Fun at Chester Cathedral

The Museum of the Moon artwork by artist Luke Jerram is coming to Chester Cathedral for the first time this February.

From Thursday 12 February to Sunday 15 March 2026, marvel at its beauty or visit one of the many events and activities that will be taking place in the moonlight, including family events, talks, concerts, and more.

Measuring six metres in diameter, the moon features 120dpi detailed NASA imagery of the lunar surface. At an approximate scale of 1:500,000, each centimetre of the internally lit spherical sculpture represents 5km of the moon’s surface.

The installation is a fusion of lunar imagery, moonlight and surround sound composition created by BAFTA and Ivor Novello award winning composer Dan Jones. Each venue also programmes their own series of lunar inspired events beneath the moon.
