Fun for all ages
Family-friendly attractions in Cheshire offer endless fun for kids and parents alike. From world-class zoos to magical treetop adventures, discover top spots packed with interactive experiences, outdoor play, and wildlife wonders across the region.
Chester Zoo
Home to over 30,000 animals across 130 acres, Chester Zoo is one of the UK's most extraordinary days out. Explore immersive habitats spanning dense rainforests, tropical caves, open wetlands and Himalayan landscapes, then discover the spectacular Heart of Africa, where giraffes, African wild dogs and warthogs roam a space inspired by the African savannah. There's always something new to see, and always a reason to come back.
Go Ape, Delamere Forest
Delamere Forest looks very different from up in the canopy. At Go Ape, high ropes, zip lines and Tarzan swings wind through the trees for a genuine adventure that gets the whole family off the ground. The Treetop Challenge suits ages ten and up, while Treetop Adventure and Treetop Adventure Plus bring younger explorers into the action at a slightly gentler level. Back on the forest floor, guided Forest Segway trails add another dimension to a brilliant day out in one of Cheshire's most beautiful woodlands.

Jodrell Bank
One of the most remarkable structures in the UK sits in the middle of the Cheshire countryside. At this UNESCO World Heritage Site, families can explore hands-on science sessions, outdoor trails, a constellation-themed playground and daily shows in the Space Dome beneath the iconic Lovell Telescope. It has a way of making the universe feel both vast and surprisingly close.
BeWILDerwood
Deep in the Cheshire woodland, something magical is waiting. BeWILDerwood is a treetop adventure park built around the stories of the Boggles, Twiggles and their friends, with zip wires, rope bridges, treehouses and slides at every turn. Character meet-and-greets, storytelling and seasonal events make every visit feel different, and the woodland setting makes it unlike anywhere else in the county.
Gulliver's World Resort
A full day of family adventure in Warrington, with over 80 rides, shows and play zones designed with families in mind. From gentle carousels and boat rides for little ones to log flumes and mini coasters for those ready for more, Gulliver's World paces itself perfectly across the ages. Seasonal events and themed weekends keep the calendar busy throughout the year.
Tatton Park
Few places in Cheshire pack as much into a single visit as Tatton Park. The deer park, walled gardens, working farm, adventure playground and mansion are all there to explore across a vast and beautiful estate near Knutsford. It's the kind of place that feels different depending on the season, and where children have room to properly run.
The Ice Cream Farm
More than just ice cream, though the ice cream is very good. The Ice Cream Farm near Tattenhall combines over 50 flavours of dairy ice cream with tractor rides, indoor play barns, outdoor splash zones and animal encounters. It's a proper family day out that happens to end with a cone, and it draws visitors from right across the region for good reason.
National Trust Gems
Cheshire is home to some of the National Trust's finest properties, each with its own character. Little Moreton Hall is a fairy-tale moated manor that looks too extraordinary to be real. Lyme sits on the edge of Cheshire's Peak District with a deer herd, adventure playground and sweeping parkland. Quarry Bank Mill in Wilmslow brings the story of the Industrial Revolution to life with working machinery and apprentice house tours. Dunham Massey near Altrincham offers deer, playgrounds and beautiful gardens in equal measure.

Blue Planet Aquarium
Just off the M53 at Cheshire Oaks, Blue Planet Aquarium is home to one of the UK's largest shark collections, viewed through a celebrated 71 metre underwater tunnel. Explore nine themed zones packed with clownfish, stingrays, seahorses and, in Venom, lionfish and tarantulas too. Catch daily feeding and talk shows in the Aquatheatre, let the little ones loose in the outdoor play area, or go further with a shark dive, junior dives welcome from age eight. Open daily from 10am, with onsite parking, it's an easy day out for the whole family.
Hover Force
Set on 30 acres of natural marshland near Frodsham, Hover Force is the North West's only place to pilot a hovercraft over land and water, and the fun doesn't stop there. Families can race off-road buggies and dirt karts through mud and puddles, then head to the target range for archery, axe throwing or air rifles. With activities suitable for ages five and up, it's a proper adventure day out, easily reached from Chester, Liverpool and Manchester.
