After indulging, take a leisurely stroll through the picturesque Carrs Park in the heart of town, or follow the River Bollin towards Styal Village and Quarry Bank Mill. One of the best-preserved textile mills of the Industrial Revolution, National Trust Styal offers a fascinating glimpse into the past, including the evocative Victorian apprentice house - once home to hundreds of child workers.

Make a night of it and catch a film at the glitzy boutique cinema The Rex, or enjoy the warm welcome at traditional pubs such as The Coach and Four or the King William both of which also offer overnight accommodation. For a livelier night out, start with cocktails at Aura Bar, before dancing the night away at Symposium nightclub.
