5 Things to do this Week - 18th - 25th August 2025

Looking for something fun to do? Here are 5 fantastic things to do in Cheshire this week.

1. Outdoor Cinema and Theatre

It's a bumper week of outdoor theatre and cinema this week. Secure your spot under the stars at Tatton Park for an unforgettable weekend of films, friends, and fun! Choose from 6 classic films with options for all the family to enjoy.

On Monday, it's also the last time to catch Moonlight Flicks in Chester with Paddington in Peru at 8.30pm.

Head to Grosvenor Park to experience Chester's magical outdoor theatre-in-the-round. This year, there is a brand-new adaption of The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, Jane Austen’s most famous love story Pride & Prejudice and a whimsical walkabout theatre adventure with Alice in Wonderland for the whole family to enjoy.

Plus, you can enjoy not one but two Shakespearean classics this week, Twelfth Night at Port Sunlight and The Tempest at Norton Priory.

Walton Hall & Gardens are also hosting the UK's largest open-air adventure film tour this week bringing inspiration and adventure to the big screen outdoors.

Talking of FREE, you can take part in lots of family-friendly activities at some of Cheshire's best museums this week. Head over to Warrington Museum, Lion Salt Works, Weaver Hall Museum, and Grosvenor Museum for some varied and fun FREE crafty activities.

On Tuesday, head to Grosvenor Park in Chester for some magic makes, where you will be able to create the ‘purr-fect’ Cheshire Cat or a super silly Mad Hatter and on Tuesday and Thursday join the library team from Storyhouse under the teepee for Rhymetime, perfect for younger children and toddlers. Plus, the bar will be open, so why not treat yourself to some delicious refreshments after a spot of musical fun!

Then this Thursday, Livewire will be taking over Time Square in Warrington, providing free drop-in sports sessions throughout the day for all ages. No booking is required, just turn up and get involved in the fun.

5. James Richards Circus at Blakemere Village

The circus is coming to town this week at Blakemere Village. James Richards is a family-oriented all-human production who has been bringing affordable, live entertainment to audiences across the country for many years.
