The perfect end to the summer holidays with the traditional Country Fayre at Tatton Park’s Farm!

The staff and volunteers at Tatton Park's Farm are eagerly anticipating the return of their popular Country Fayre with a packed programme of events which will take place during the August Bank Holiday weekend from Saturday 23rd to Monday 25th August. With traditional games such as the egg and spoon race and the challenging tug-of-war, visitors can see if they have what it takes to be the champion! There'll be falconry displays, archery and circus skills, special guests and delicious refreshments. Jayne Chapman, Farm Manager said: “Our Country Fayre really is the highlight of our summer programme, and we are so excited to welcome back the Morris dancers and new for this year the exciting K9 dog display team. It really is fun for all the family.”

A country-themed lineup full of variety

On each of the three days of the fayre, the farm will feature different guests, kicking off with the Cheshire K9 display team on Saturday 23rd, showcasing an amazing spectacle of doggy obedience and agility to delight and entertain. On Sunday 24th visitors can learn all about bees, the pollinators that are vitally important to the biodiversity of our planet, with Cheshire Beekeepers Association. Anyone interested in beekeeping will have the opportunity to learn more. To round off the weekend in style, on Bank Holiday Monday 25th, the Thelwall Morris dancers will be performing a selection of rousing traditional Cotswold Morris dances with a couple of their own thrown in.

Sheep racing spectacular!

Of course, a visit to the Farm wouldn’t be complete without meeting some of the lovely farmyard animals, including the adorable newly hatched chicks and the cute piglets, as well as falconry displays and the exciting spectacle of sheep racing, always a firm farm favourite.  Witness the marvel of the steam engine in action and say hello to Little Grey Fergie the tractor, a highlight for younger visitors! Browse the delightful stalls of Mrs Darlington’s Jams and Chutneys and Great Budworth Ice Cream. Grab a tasty bite to eat from the Farm’s own barbeque.
