Made in Cheshire: Crewe Lyceum Theatre shines the spotlight on local talent
From award-winning amateur dramatic societies to youth performers taking their first steps into the spotlight, our programme celebrates a range of incredible shows created right here in the heart of the community.
Theatre Director Graham McKnight said: “From beloved family classics to bold new productions, these shows are the result of local passion, dedication and creativity. They are rehearsed in community halls, perfected in evening rehearsals after work and school, and brought to life by people who live and breathe theatre right here in Cheshire.
“At Crewe Lyceum Theatre, we are proud to champion these local companies and community organisations and provide a stage on which they can shine and prove that when the curtain rises on a show that’s been ‘Made in Cheshire’, the whole community can take a bow.”
Ghost - Crewe Amateur Musicals Society: 15-18 April
Crewe Amateur Musicals Society present the poignant and powerful Ghost the Musical. Adapted from the Academy Award-winning film, this romantic and suspense-filled production tells the story of Sam and Molly with a love that transcends life itself.
Blending comedy, emotion and drama, CAMS continue their proud tradition of bringing ambitious, large-scale productions to local audiences. It’s community theatre at its most moving.
Crewe Gang Show: 6-9 May
With an incredible 88-year legacy, the Scouts of South West Cheshire return with their much-loved Gang Show. Featuring over 100 young people, this variety spectacular combines show-stopping musical numbers, dynamic choreography and laugh-out-loud comedy sketches.
Bursting with energy and community spirit, the Gang Show is a celebration of teamwork, talent and nearly nine decades of performance tradition in Crewe.
Crewe Lyceum Theatre Summer Youth Project 2026 - The Wizard of Oz: August 2026
Our Summer Youth Project invites young performers aged 8–18 to follow the Yellow Brick Road all the way to the Lyceum’s main stage.
Over two unforgettable weeks, participants work with industry professions to rehearse and perform The Wizard of Oz. It’s the perfect opportunity for young people across Cheshire to build confidence, develop skills and experience the magic of live theatre.
The Witches of Eastwick - Acton AOS: 14-17 October
Following award-nominated successes with Oliver and Legally Blonde, Acton AOS present the area premiere of the darkly comic musical The Witches of Eastwick.
Featuring show-stopping numbers such as Make Him Mine and Dance with the Devil, this bold and entertaining production showcases the ambition and creativity of one of Cheshire’s leading amateur societies. Expect comedy, drama and a touch of magic.
Nativity! The Musical - Show Ready Productions: 25-28 November
Just in time for the festive season, Show Ready Productions return with Nativity! The Musical. Following their sell-out successes with Legally Blonde and The Wedding Singer, this heart-warming family favourite promises sparkle, laughter and plenty of Christmas cheer.
With catchy songs like Sparkle and Shine and Nazareth, it’s a joyful celebration of community spirit and the perfect way to kick off the festive season in Cheshire.
