Iconic ‘CHESTER’ letters return to Cathedral Gardens as Chester Heritage Festival celebrates 10th Anniversary.
The beloved ‘CHESTER’ letters installation is returning to Chester Cathedral gardens following a special refurbishment to mark the 10th anniversary of the Chester Heritage Festival. Freshly repainted and ready for visitors, the iconic installation returns just in time for the milestone celebration taking place from May 24 to June 8.
The Launch Day on May 24 will celebrate both the return of the ‘CHESTER’ letters and the start of Chester Heritage Festival, transforming Exchange Square into a living showcase of Chester's rich heritage. Festival activities include performances by local musicians, a bubbleologist, and a traditional Jester. Visitors can participate in a fun Tai Chi workshop that blends ancient practices with modern wellness techniques.
Creative activities will keep little ones busy with traditional arts and crafts sessions where participants can create paper stained-glass masterpieces, design heritage-inspired tiles, or receive intricate henna designs from our skilled artist. Family-friendly heritage activities have been specially curated to make history accessible and exciting for younger visitors.
History enthusiasts can explore the South Bank History Fair, featuring fascinating artifacts and stories presented by local experts. The iconic Picturehouse will host "Talking Chester" – an engaging series of enlightening talks, exclusive films, and thought-provoking Q&A sessions that highlight the city's unique heritage.
To mark the 10th anniversary, the popular ‘CHESTER’ letters installation has been specially refurbished and relocated to the Cathedral gardens, offering the perfect photo opportunity for visitors and locals alike.
