Young Treasure Hunters Invited to Join Pirate Pete's Hunt for Knutsford's Lost Treasure
Knutsford Town Centre is set to become a pirate's playground this summer as families are invited to take part in Pirate Pete's Treasure Hunt, an adventure raising money for the mayor’s charities.
Running throughout the summer holidays, Pirate Pete's Treasure Hunt challenges children to follow clues around Knutsford Town Centre and help Pirate Pete uncover Knutsford's lost treasure. Designed with flexibility in mind, families can complete the trail at their own leisure over several visits or enjoy the full treasure-hunting adventure in a single outing. The self-guided format makes it the perfect activity for keeping children entertained throughout the summer break while exploring the town's historic streets and local businesses.
Organised by the Mayor of Knutsford, the trail has been created to encourage families to get outdoors. Every child who takes part will receive a bag of treasure and will be entered into a grand prize draw. There will be additional treats, such as free fruit and colouring in sheets for the children inside Knutsford Market hall, generously provided by York & Co greengrocers.
Mayor of Knutsford, Councillor Peter Coan, said:
"Pirate Pete's Treasure Hunt is a great way for families to enjoy Knutsford during the summer holidays. The trail combines fun, adventure and excitement.
One of the great things about Pirate Pete's Treasure Hunt is that families can take part in a way that suits them. Whether you want to spend the day solving clues and hunting for treasure or complete the trail over several visits during the holidays, the adventure is there to enjoy whenever it's convenient. I hope lots of young treasure hunters will join Pirate Pete on his quest and help uncover Knutsford's lost treasure."
The event is raising funds for the mayor's chosen charities, Men’s Shed Knutsford and the PTAs of Knutsford's primary schools.
The mayor would like to thank the local businesses whose support has helped bring the event to life. Special thanks go to Satya Sanctuary, Knutsford Heritage Centre, York & Co, Knutsford Olde Sweet Shoppe, Linden Stores, Detaljer, Dexter & Jones, Tatton Perk, Booths, and The Real Fruit Creamery for sponsoring the event.
"The support of our sponsors demonstrates the incredible community spirit that exists within Knutsford," added the mayor. "Their generosity has helped us create a memorable summer experience for local children and families while supporting local causes."
