5 Things to do this Week - 29th September - 6th October 2025
Looking for something fun to do? Here are 5 fantastic things to do in Cheshire this week.
1. Castaway presents Shrek the Musical, Storyhouse
Castaway returns to the Storyhouse stage this week with the Tony-winning “Shrek The Musical,” following their recent hits “Legally Blonde” and “Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.” Based on the beloved film, this hilarious family adventure follows Shrek, an ogre on a life-changing quest with a wisecracking donkey and a feisty princess. Featuring a live 15-piece orchestra and memorable songs like “I’m A Believer,” this musical comedy is not to be missed.

2. T'Pau at the Live Rooms
T'Pau, formed in 1986 with vocalist Carol Decker and guitarist Ronnie Rogers, rose to fame with their hit “Heart and Soul,” boosted by a popular jeans commercial. Their debut album topped UK charts, followed by successful singles and tours with Bryan Adams and Nik Kershaw. After initial disbandment, Decker revived T'Pau in 1998, and they continue to tour the UK and Europe. Catch them live this Thursday at the Live Rooms, Chester.
3. Grandparents Weekend, Gulliver's World Resort
Celebrate Grandparents Weekend at Gulliver’s World this weekend. Two Grandparents get free entry when accompanied by one full paying person throughout Grandparents Weekend! This special offer is available at all Gulliver’s Theme Parks on both the Saturday and the Sunday.

4. MBNA Chester Marathon
The multi-award winning and sell-out MBNA Chester Marathon will return this Sunday. The event has developed an enviable reputation with runners of all levels and abilities. As the 6th largest marathon in the UK and 3x time winner of the UK’s Best Marathon, it is also the only marathon in the UK that spans across both England and Wales. The route takes in the beautiful surrounding landscapes and villages that both countries have to offer.
5. Warrington Restaurant Week
Warrington is launching its first-ever Restaurant Week from October 6th to 12th in the town centre. Organised by Warrington BID, the event celebrates the town’s growing food and drink scene with exclusive offers, fixed-price menus, and themed dishes from local restaurants, cafés, pubs, and bars. It follows the success of the Warrington Food and Drink Festival and aims to attract more visitors to explore the local dining spots. Details on participating venues and offers can be found here.
