Crewe Heritage Centre is the town's only museum, telling the story of how a small farming hamlet became an engineering heavyweight and household name in under 200 years. Here are ten things to try while visiting... 1. Explore how Crewe grew from farmland to an industrial heavyweight in just thirty years 2. Learn what life was like in the town 3. Ride the miniature railway 4. Watch trains entering and leaving Crewe Station 5. Get hands on with the locomotive collection 6. Discover the history of signalling with live demonstrations 7. Grab a bite to eat in the cafe 8. Buy a souvenir from the shop 9. Relax in the grounds and enjoy a picnic 10. Play traditional games in the Exhibition Hall The centre is run by Crewe Heritage Trust on the original site of Crewe Works, once the largest railway engineering works in the world.
