You don’t have to be a fan to be moved by the story of ‘Joy Division’, which can only be described a modern day Shakespeare play. A bittersweet tragedy of love, turmoil and chaos revolving around the rise and fall of Joy Division, leading to the formation and rising of the world famous band we all know today as “New Order”. A story which changed and shaped modern music throughout the 80’s, early 90’s and beyond!
Re-live the ‘Punk Rock’ culture which inspired and brought together the three band members – Ian Curtis and Salford lads Bernard Sumner and Peter Hook to form the band “Warsaw’ which shortly later renamed to ‘Joy Division’.
The 3 hour tour includes personal accounts of Trevor’s memories of Ian as a young boy, where Ian lived, worked and wrote the lyrics to some of the the bands most famous tracks, which are still broadcast and played around the world today. The tour also includes visiting two famous murals located in Macclesfield dedicated to Ian. The tour finishes with food & drink at ‘Proper Sound’ and photo sessions next to one of the murals in the bars courtyard.
