Winter Watch Parade

Chester’s Winter Watch Parade takes place on Thursday, 4th December 2025, starting at 7 pm from Town Hall Square. Steeped in local tradition dating back to the 1400s, this remarkable parade follows Chester’s city leaders and the City Watch as they process through the historic streets, blending medieval pageantry with festive fun.

Expect a carnival-like celebration starring characters such as the Lord of Misrule, Karamba Samba drummers, angels, dragons, Victorian Cooks, the Tree of Life, and the legendary Fire Skeletons.

Spectacular performances including fire breathing, music, and dance bring warmth and excitement as Chester’s medieval heart comes alive for the holiday season.
