Warrington Music Festival

It’s back! A line-up of almost 30 bands and artists have been revealed as part of the much anticipated return of Warrington Music Fest.

The town’s biggest annual showcase of emerging music talent will see an open-air headline set from Winachi at Golden Square’s Old Market Place on Saturday, 6 June – and, as always, it’s free and unticketed with the focus firmly on supporting Warrington’s grassroots scene.

The electro funk collective will share the stage with long-running live favourites The Ambersons, indie pop band Freight who recently received national radio exposure for their single, Film Director, and former headliner Olivia Booth, who has been championed by BBC Introducing and Radio X’s X-Posure.

Punch In, Billy Howard, The Bemonts, RiTch, Containers, Isla Rico, Luna Drift, The Hillocks, Red Jaspers, The Locks, Frayed Connection, Bucaria, Red Light Racers, Kim Jennett and The Brindley Rats complete the vibrant, diverse line-up at Golden Square for a full day of tunes from the musicians shaping the sound of the region.

Meanwhile, Warrington favourites The Bogtrotters will headline the Time Square stage. Well-loved and long established for their arrangements of traditional Irish and Scottish music mixed with country and more modern material, the Warrington band are led by Tim Flaherty who had success in the US with the group Poacher.

Time Square’s stage aims to bring a broader range of artists and music genres to the event for a ‘real mix of generations, styles and stories’ in one place.

The Bogtrotters will be joined by The Escape Committee – whose line-up also features a former member of Poacher, Pete ‘Sarge’ Frampton – Bucaria, Red Light Racers, Junior Dayvis, Charlene Semp, Evie Caine, Marti Wilde, The Lower Angel Band and Synthian.
