Ye Olde Kings Head
Built in 1622 on Foundations dating back to the early 1200s boasting Elizabethen Fire places & timber recovered from one of Lord Admirals sunken ships. This Inn has many stories to tell. During a refurbishment in the 1930s a sword was found hidden under the floor boards of bedroom 4 which can now be seen hanging proudly above the bar. Ye olde kings head is amongst the most haunted inns in the country, boasting 13 resident spirits with the place rife with paranormal activity we attract ghost hunters & mediums from all over the world, including renowned ghost hunters Most Haunted who investigated in April 2014.The building has been has been trading as an Inn since 1714. It consists of a pub on the ground floor a restaurant (Feast) on the first and an 8 bedroom hotel on the second floor all in keeping with the Tudor style.Set within the Roman Walls of Chester its in 5 minute walking distance to Chester race course. The River Dee and all shops and amenities.
