Knutsford welcomes Alex&er Jewellery

One of Knutsford’s newest jewellers Alex&er Jewellery has fully immersed themselves in the local community by joining Take a Seat initiative, Feeding Charter and accepting the Knutsford voucher.

Alex&er Jewellery opened its doors in May, is located on Princess Street and run by founder Alexander Harold and his partner, Kristina. Established in 2014 and originally based in the Staffordshire Moorlands, the brand hand-crafts bespoke solid silver and gold jewellery—taking every piece from initial sketch to finished product.

Owner, Alex said, ““We have been handcrafting bespoke jewellery, designing, and creating collections for 10 years and it has been a dream of ours to open a shop in Knutsford. It ticks all the boxes with location, sense of community and independent shopping vibe. We’ve received an extremely warm welcome from both the public and the local businesses. Everyone has been very supportive.

Expanding beyond retail, the business plans to activate its upper floor as a community workshop space.

Alex continued, “In September we will be opening our upstairs area for workshops hosting a variety of artistic and creative workshops including jewellery making, floristry, design and other creative practices. We wish to be almost like a ‘art and design house’ with a few layers. We will be advertising through our socials and through our mailing list where people can find out more come September.”

Knutsford prides itself on being an independent town and offering something different. Alex&er Jewellery fits that brief. We are so pleased they will be accepting the Knutsford voucher and taking part in two schemes whose aim is to make Knutsford a friendly and welcoming town – take a seat and the feeding charter. Launched in 2020, the Knutsford Voucher scheme now includes nearly 60 participating local businesses. It provides a direct "shop local" alternative to high-street corporate gift cards, ensuring 100% of the spend stays within the local economy. Vouchers can be purchased online via the Discover Knutsford website or in person at the Town Council offices.

The Take a Seat scheme encourages local retailers to offer a rest spot for visitors needing a break, without any obligation to make a purchase. Meanwhile, the Breastfeeding Friendly Charter signals a welcoming, comfortable environment for parents feeding babies and young children. Participating venues display window stickers throughout the town centre, with full listings available on Discover Knutsford.
