Heritage Open Days Return!

Get ready to step back in time and explore Knutsford’s rich history! A vibrant, packed programme of heritage events is coming to town this September as part of the national Heritage Open Days festival, taking place from 11th to 20th September.

This year’s national theme, ‘Working Histories,’ is a perfect fit for Knutsford—a town renowned for its stunning architecture and industrious past. Coordinated by Knutsford Town Council in partnership with local historians and heritage sites, the town-wide celebration highlights the stories and traditions that shaped the local community.

Festival Highlights Include:

The Marble Arch - Take a rare peek inside Knutsford’s famous King Street landmark.

Life in the Workhouse - Discover what daily life was like in Knutsford’s historic workhouse through displays at Jubilee Hall and the Knutsford Heritage Centre.

Free Admission to Tabley House - Enjoy a complimentary visit to the former home of the Leicester family and explore the day-to-day lives of the estate's former staff.

Willow Weaving Workshop - Try your hand at a century-old traditional craft in a hands-on, interactive session.

Inside the Yellow House - Step inside this iconic Drury Lane building, historically known as the Old Laundry.

A Family Business Through Generations - Pop into Arthur Lee Interiors on Toft Road to meet the owners, learn how the business has evolved over the last century, and enjoy a spot of retail therapy.

St Cross Church Bell Tower Tours - Climb to the highest viewpoint in Knutsford for breathtaking views of the town.

In addition, Brook Street Chapel, St John’s Church, and Knutsford Town Council are hosting events as part of the wider festival line-up.
