Alice's Parlour serves up a whimsical new dining adventure in Chester

Led by chef Harry Elliott, Oddfellows’ latest concept combines fresh, locally sourced dishes with a magical setting inspired by Alice in Wonderland.

Oddfellows Chester has come alive once again, unveiling an enchanting new chapter with the launch of Alice’s Parlour – a whimsical dining space that promises to be one of the most exciting culinary experiences in the city this season.

The revival of Oddfellows is being led by Isabel Marston, who returns after 16 years to the much-loved venue where she was part of the original team behind its first transformation back in 2008. Today, Oddfellows operates under the management of Isabel and her passionate team of local hospitality professionals at the helm. Together, they are determined to place Oddfellows back at the heart of Chester’s vibrant dining and social scene.

A Magical New Concept

At the heart of this reimagining is Alice’s Parlour – a fantastical dining room designed by celebrated local designer Kelvin Lloyd-Roberts. The space invites guests to step through the looking glass into a world of imagination and curiosity, complete with upside-down lampshades, levitating books, and walls adorned with clocks and mirrors. It is a playful yet elegant setting, perfect for a Mad Hatter’s Afternoon Tea or a candlelit dinner full of seasonal delights.

Leading the Kitchen

To bring the concept to life, Oddfellows has welcomed Harry Elliott as Head Chef. Harry is a well-known figure on Chester’s culinary scene, having held senior positions across the city including Chester Racecourse. With a passion for creating fresh, seasonal dishes using the finest locally sourced produce, Harry now leads a talented brigade of young and ambitious chefs who are adding their own creativity and flair to the menu.

“This is a truly exciting time for Oddfellows,” says Isabel Marston. “Alice’s Parlour is the culmination of so much hard work and love from our whole team. We’ve created a space that feels magical, welcoming, and fun, but also one that celebrates great food, beautiful drinks, and the people who make Chester so special. Being back here after so many years feels like coming home, and I’m proud to work alongside such talented individuals across every department.”

Food & Drink Highlights

Alice’s Parlour offers something for every occasion:

Reconnecting with the Community

Beyond its culinary ambitions, Oddfellows is committed to once again becoming a cornerstone of Chester’s hospitality scene. With its new identity, independent management, and strong local team, the venue is embracing its role as a hub for locals and visitors alike.

“Oddfellows has always had a special place in Chester,” adds Isabel. “Our mission is to honour that legacy whilst bringing something fresh, exciting, and truly unique to the city. We want people to walk in and feel transported, but also right at home.”
