5 Things to do this Week - 7th - 14th April 2025
Looking for something fun to do? Here are 5 fantastic things to do in Cheshire this week.
1. Figured Out: Toy Stories in Nature at Warrington Museum & Art Gallery
This Exhibition at Warrington Museum & Art Gallery will encourage visitors of all ages to relive their childhoods and embrace all things toys.
Chris Rose, who has worked with the likes of Disney, Sony, Lego, Hasbro and Mattel on advertising campaigns, is bringing his new show to his hometown. With ‘Figured Out: Toy Stories in Nature’, the Culcheth photographer will share his love of toys and action figures and show how keeping a piece of his childhood alive has led to a high profile career. Chris’s passion for toys began, aged six, when he started collecting Star Wars figures and imagining their backstories.
This led to the lifelong pursuit of blending narrative and photography and crafting scenes that blur the line between fantasy and reality. If you can't get to this exhibition this week, don't worry it is on until 15th June.

2. Ride the Giant Wheel
This Easter, head to Tatton Park and ride the Giant Wheel! The Giant Wheel Co. brings you the ultimate experience in panoramic views with their flagship 50m observation wheel, the largest transportable wheel in the UK!
It's your opportunity to take in the majestic scenery of Tatton Park, like never before.
Plus whilst you are there, make sure you visit one of the other special events taking place over Easter. Take part in an Easter Egg Hunt in the Gardens, celebrate the joys of Spring with Little Miss Giggles, Mr Bump and farmyard friends at the Farm, join Little Miss Tiny and the Easter Bunny in the Mansion, meet the lambs at the farm or discover artisan food producers and beautiful homeware at the Pop Up Easter Market.
3. Craft Activities at Cheshire West Museums
Drop into Weaver Hall Museum for some special Earth Day themed craft activities where you can make your own Earth Mobile. FREE donations welcome.
On Wednesday come and make clay minibeasts, make sure you make them as strange as you like! £5 per child, booking necessary.
Or head over to Grosvenor Museum in Chester to make a stained glass style lantern with a spring theme inspired by the work of famous female Stained Glass artist Trina Cox. FREE donations welcome.

4. Discover the new Heart of Africa habitat at Chester Zoo (opened 5th April)
Be one of the first to discover this brand new 22-acre habitat, the largest ever to open at the Chester Zoo and home to 57 species including giraffes, zebras, and ostriches.
Every visit supports vital conservation efforts to help Africa’s rarest species not only survive but thrive. As you explore, encounter a mixed savannah, vibrant African-inspired art, lush plants and breathtaking panoramic views. Each step connects you to the essential work done at the zoo to protect these extraordinary species and their wild homes.
5. A Night Out with Madonna Tribute Evening
This Friday head to the Grosvenor Pulford Hotel & Spa in Chester for Tasha Leaper's unmissable tribute to the Queen of Pop.
Enjoy all of Madonna’s famed hits during a night out to remember in the Grosvenor Suite, featuring an electric live performance from one of the UK’s most sought-after tributes to Madonna.
Plus enjoy a delicious two-course meal (served from 7:30pm) to round off the evening.
