Peter Vader

Peter Vader is a well-known and highly accomplished town crier from Zwolle, the Netherlands, having proudly served as the city's official Town Crier for over 30 years. A true ambassador of Zwolle, he brings centuries of tradition to life with charisma, authority, and a voice that truly commands attention. Wherever he appears, at ceremonies, festivals, sporting events and international gatherings, he proudly represents his city and passionately promotes the historic and honourable profession of the town crier.

Beyond the city streets, Peter's voice has echoed through the stadium of PEC Zwolle in the First Division for 17 seasons, where his strong and recognisable voice has become part of the club's identity. He has also attended events both nationally and internationally, including the promotion of the Dutch Hanzesteden (trading cities during the VOC) in Finland, and performed at the famous Tulip Festival in the United States.

In the world of town crying, Peter has achieved remarkable success. He has become Dutch National Champion three times and last year reached second place at the National Championships of the Netherlands, with approximately 30 competition wins across the Netherlands over the years. Internationally, he has been invited to represent his country at three European Championships, and at the World Championship in Australia was awarded first prize for Best Costume and achieved third place in the volume category.

He is very much looking forward to attending the event in Chester, proudly presenting his city of Zwolle, and meeting and connecting with his international colleagues.
