Michael Biedendieck
Michael Biedendieck, 66, lives in Glandorf near Osnabrück in Lower Saxony, Germany, and has proudly served as a Town Crier in his hometown since 1992, making him an active Town Crier for more than 35 years. Together with his fellow Town Criers, he announces local news and community events every Sunday after church services, helping to preserve this long-standing tradition.
Since 2017 he has been a member of the German Town Criers Guild and regularly takes part in meetings and competitions. At his first German Town Crier Championship in 2019 he became German Champion, and in 2022 took part outside the official competition as the rules did not allow a title defence. At the 2025 Championship he achieved second place.
A self-employed businessman for more than 40 years, Michael is married and the father of three adult sons. Alongside his passion for traditional Town Crier culture, he has been actively involved for many years in voluntary community service through the local fire brigade and church community.
