Lesley Cutts

Lesley has been a Halifax Town Crier since 2001, Bellman of the Borough of Calderdale since 2003 and Crier to the Town Council of Hebden Royd since 2012. He is currently Chairman of the Loyal Company of Town Criers and has run his own competitions including the Loyal Company of Town Criers British Championships three times. Over the years he has won many competitions, including 1st, 2nd and 3rd places, as well as Best Dressed Crier, Best Ambassador and Best Content of Cry.

He likes to write cries with humour in them, feeling it entertains the crowds.

Now semi-retired, he works part time as a Health and Safety Assistant. A Yorkshireman through and through, he is married to Julie and has one son, Simon. The best thing he likes about town crying is meeting old and new criers from all over the world and the camaraderie between them all.
