Father Christmas
Lapland Manchester
Lapland Manchester
The Experience:
The 4-4.5 hour Lapland experience is based on Mike and Alison Battle’s origin story and character books that have reimagined the myth of Father Christmas and his secret Elven Civilisation.
With an upsurge in Human kindness this year, Father Christmas’ Good List is the longest it has ever been, the Elves are struggling to make all of the toys in time for Christmas, therefore Father Christmas has the clever idea to invite the very best children from around the world to come to Lapland and help the Elves finish their toymaking in time for Christmas. And so, a beautiful wax sealed personalised invitation arrives in the post inviting each child to come to Lapland to help the Elves.
Upon arrival, guests will first happen upon the Whispering Woods where the Small Folk will receive their special Elven Passport that permits them to travel to Lapland. Families will visit the Lapland Toy Factory where the Toy Factory Elves will be thrilled to welcome the children who have arrived to help with their toy making. After finishing their toy making, guests will then smell the scent of delicious gingerbread wafting through the Lapland air coming from the Lapland Bakery. Here, the Small Folk will be warmly welcomed by Mother Christmas and her Bakery Elves to help decorate a fresh batch of gingerbread.
Families will then have a further 90 minutes free time exploring the Lapland Elven Village, immersing themselves in the daily lives of the Elves as they prepare for Christmas in a joyous and bustling atmosphere. Children can write a letter to Father Christmas in the Elven Post Office, ice-skate on the Frozen Pond, visit Pixie-Mixie in her sweetshop, refuel in Pumpernickel’s restaurant and peruse beautiful giftware in the Elf Emporium.
Each families visit culminates with a personalised private audience with Father Christmas in his snowy woodland cabin. Memories are made to last a lifetime as adults witness their child’s amazement at how well Father Christmas knows them. Each child proudly receives a golden bell to become an ‘Honorary Elf’ and a beautiful husky toy to love and treasure as a keepsake of their magical adventure.
The magic of Lapland lasts for every child all the way to Christmas morning. For doing such a wonderful job in the Toy Factory Father Christmas and the Elves decide that each child should receive the toy they helped to build in Lapland. Children wake on Christmas morning amazed to find a personalised note from Father Christmas thanking them for their help, as well as the very toy they made during their visit to Lapland. Father Christmas and the Elves agreed they truly deserved to keep it.

Lapland Foundation:
Imagine a Foundation that did the work of Father Christmas….
This was the dream that inspired LaplandUK founders Mike and Alison Battle to establish the Lapland Foundation in October 2024 with the simple ambition to do the work of Father Christmas by bringing joy and hope to young children facing challenges at Christmastime.
Sadly, thousands of children have their childhoods interrupted and question their belief, not only in Father Christmas but in life itself, challenged by illness, disability, isolation, bereavement or financial and domestic hardship. It is here where the Lapland Foundation is committed to helping, because we believe every child is important, and every childhood deserves to be honoured and nurtured no matter what circumstance children find themselves in.
Currently in the UK up to 200,000 children face Christmas in a UK hospital or hospice with many of them worrying, despite their challenges, that Christmas will pass them by in some way. Many believe that Father Christmas will not know where to find them to deliver presents if they are not at home.
Lapland Foundation aims to remove those fears and spread Christmas joy to those who have had their childhoods interrupted. This can take many forms, from delivering a beautifully packed stocking from Father Christmas to a young person’s bed or bringing the spirit of Father Christmas to their hospital or hospice.
