Queens Park

Queens Parks beautiful 45 acres, was dedicated, to the people of Crewe, in 1887, to mark the joint occasion of the Queen's Jubilee and the fiftieth anniversary of the opening of the Grand Junction Railway. The Park, being a gift to the town by the London & North Western Railway Co, was officially opened to the public in 1888.Designed by F W Webb, and Edward Kemp, at a cost of 10,000Plus, in recent years a complete refurbishment, following a Heritage Lottery Fund award, to bring Queens Park back up to the parks formal Victorian glory.Very little changed during the restoration, as the project represented a balance between conservation and innovation, with very little intervention in terms of the original design.Grade 11* listed park with both Green Flag Award and Heritage Accreditation.Queens Park is a delight to visit at any time of the year and facilities include:- Lakeside Pavillion – Café open 9am – 6pm- Children's play area (incl Wheelchair Friendly Swing and roundabout- Radar key required)- Outdoor gym- Ornamental 4.5 acre lake- Boating in Spring/Summer- Fishing- Crown green bowling- Monuments and buildings of historical significance- Toilets (incl disabled Radar key access)- Free car parking- Active Friends of Queens Park group- Sustrans cycleway from Crewe to Nantwich, also known as the King Shilling Way- Shanaze Reade BMX Track and Skatepark (located opp on Tip Kinder Park)
