Pick Your Own Fruit in Cheshire: A Fun, Low-Cost Day Out for Families

Kenyon Hall Farm, Warrington

From strawberries and raspberries to onions and sweetcorn, they grow 20 different fruits and vegetables for you to pick at Kenyon Hall Farm.

Please make sure you book in advance. Tickets for strawberry picking cost from £5.95 per person which, includes approx 300- 250g of strawberries and free access to pick any other fruit and veg available (to be paid by weight).

For other fruit picking it's £3.95 per person and includes approx. 330g of fruit, vegetable picking entry is free, just pay for what you pick.

Whilst you are there, head inside their award-winning farm shop, brimming with local seasonal produce and artisan treats. Or pop into the onsite café for freshly prepared, traditional farmhouse breakfasts, fresh sandwiches, homemade cakes or even Afternoon tea.

Plus this Summer they have their circus themed maize maze. Navigate the winding paths as you hunt for a stilt-walking scarecrow, sunflower plate-spinner and other circus characters. Suitable for all ages, it's the perfect summer family activity! The maze takes 20-30 mins to complete, with five characters to find (and no clowns). Tickets cost £3.95 per person, with discounts for families and it's free for infants under 18 months.

Woore Fruit Farm, Crewe

Come and pick… Strawberries, raspberries, gooseberries, blackberries, blackcurrants, redcurrants, tayberries, apples, pears and more

Woore Fruit Farm is open from late May to October and is famed for its juicy strawberries and family-friendly vibe. There’s plenty of space for kids to roam, and you only pay for what you pick, a perfect low-cost treat! No need to book!

Whilst you are there, pop into Bramble Café for a delicious toastie or some warming, seasonal soup, or both if you are extra hungry.

Not fruit but there are also a couple of places in Cheshire where you can pick your own Sunflowers! 

Libby Patch, Macclesfield

Libby’s Patch has hundreds and thousands of sunflowers in bloom. Grab a season pass now for just £35, which covers entry for up to 5 people and allows you to come back and visit as many times as you like during sunflower season. Sunflowers will be available to pick and charged per stem

Crewe Sunflowers

Experience the joy of sunflower season at Crewe Green Sunflowers, open daily from 10am to 5pm for pick-your-own flower adventures. The field welcomes visitors for approximately 4 to 5 weeks, or until the sunflowers have finished blooming. Entry is £10 per car, which includes a bunch of freshly picked sunflowers (around 7-8 stems). Want more blooms to brighten your home? Additional bunches can be picked for just £5 each.

Plan a leisurely day out, picnics are very welcome! You’ll find snacks and drinks available at weekends and during busy periods; on quieter days, an honesty box system may be in place for payments, as in previous years.

You can borrow snippers but bring your own if you can.
