1. Kaleidoscope Festival and Parade
Get ready for a weeklong celebration of neurodiversity, inclusion and the talents of those living with a disability in Chester. Expect a fantastic programme of performances, events, workshops, and activities that are programmed specifically for and by the learning-disabled community.
This year’s festival kicks off with our annual Chester Disability Pride Parade on Monday 7 July, followed by a week of events and performances, including the first-ever Kaleidoscope Disability Awards ceremony.


2. Tatton Park Foodies Festival
Foodies Festival visits Tatton Park this weekend with a star-studded line up of celebrity chefs and music headliners, including, Blue, The Wanted 2.0 with founding members Max George and Siva Kaneswaren and Symphonic Ibiza Orchestra.
Watch MasterChef champions cooking in the Chefs Theatre. Learn how to make show-stoppers in the Cake and Desserts Theatre with Bake Off winners. Try exciting flavours in The Tasting Theatre. Sample new cocktails, wines and beers in the Drinks Theatre. Learn from top chefs in the International Cook School. Eat delicious Street Food. Meet Artisan Producers in the Shopping Village and more.
3. Cheshire Steam Fair
The Cheshire Steam Fair in Daresbury is a fun-filled weekend celebrating over 30 years of steam and vintage heritage. Expect impressive displays of traction engines, classic cars, tractors, and motorcycles, alongside thrilling arena shows like stunt performances, tractor pulling, and the famous Wall of Death. With a traditional funfair, children’s activities, live music, local food, trade stalls, and camping options, it’s the perfect family day out steeped in nostalgia and entertainment.
Warrington and District Model Engineering Society are running train rides from 10am on both days. On display you will find the finest model engines, which you can take a ride through the Daresbury countryside - including the models of the Flying Scotsman, Duchess of Abercorn, and many more model steam and diesel locomotives.


4. Alsager Music Festival
Alsager Music Festival returns this weekend for a vibrant celebration of live music, food, and community spirit in Milton Park. With four stages showcasing everything from acoustic sets to electronic DJs, plus street food, real ales, kids’ activities, and a family-friendly atmosphere, it’s the perfect way to enjoy a summer weekend. Run entirely by volunteers, the festival supports local causes and promises great music and good vibes for all.
5. The Elmer Adventure
Join three friends on a joyful jungle adventure in Tall Stories’ magical, musical adaptation of the much-loved Elmer books by David McKee.
Everyone loves the stories about Elmer the patchwork elephant – whether he’s pretending to be an ordinary grey elephant or playing a practical joke. But has anyone ever actually seen him?
Can you help find him? Is that a patchwork trunk hidden among the trees and bushes of the jungle?
The enchanting and colourful world of Elmer is brought to life through songs, storytelling and puppetry by Tall Stories at Storyhouse, the company who brought you The Gruffalo and Room on the Broom live on stage – for everyone aged 3 and up.
