Disability Pride Parade 2025

2025 will mark 5 years of Chester’s Disability Pride Parade!

Kaleidoscope Pride Parade is for anyone who identifies as disabled or neurodiverse plus support workers and allies.

2025 will be the 5th year holding this event which attracted just over 500 people in 2024 People attend from Cheshire, Wirral, North Wales and Shropshire.

The parade is a one day event where people gather outside of Chester Town Hall ready to start a move through the city centre of Chester. Just like Gay Pride parades that take place in most towns and cities across the world this parade is celebrating disability especially learning disabilities, profound and multiple learning disabilities and neurodiversity’s.

It’s an opportunity for the disability community to come out from the shadows, shout loud and proud – and celebrate their identity as a disabled person living in the UK today.

Where?
The parade starts at the Town Hall in Chester City Centre and finishes outside in the Exchange Square (outside the new Chester market) or inside Storyhouse (weather dependent) Back Chat Brass Band are back by popular demand and will lead the parade along the following route:

Meet at Town Hall Square from 10.30am. Roads close at 11am which marks our start time.

The Route: Werburgh Street turning right onto….Eastgate Street turning right onto Northgate Street turning left onto Princess Street….stopping at Exchange Square or Storyhouse.

Timings.
From 10.30am – Meeting Point at Chester Town Hall
11am Back Chat Brass lead the parade
11.30am Approx arrival time at Exchange Square where the band will continue to play until 12noon.
11.45 – 12.30 Break – use this time to eat lunch
12.30-1.15pm Back Chat Brass Performance
1.15pm – 2.30pm More Music, Dance and Creative Workshops to continue the party!
