Within the Folds

Within the Folds is a new exhibition by multidisciplinary artist Chloe Watts, whose practice spans illustration, design and animation.

Drawing on her lived experience of mental health, Watts uses making as a way to process complex emotions, developing a prolific body of work that gives form to often unspoken feelings. This exhibition centres on an installation inspired by her childhood experience of folding 1,000 origami cranes during a hospital stay – an act of extraordinary hope and endurance.

Extending this gesture, visitors are invited to contribute their own folded cranes, reflecting on personal memories and adding to a growing collective work. Together, these individual responses create a shared space that mirrors the persistence and intensity of inner thought.
