The Connections Club
Sick of swiping? Gutted by ghosting? For anyone who feels dating (or even just meeting new people) has become all about apps, speed and surface level small talk, and would rather someone gave it some real thought, The Connections Club is for singles who want exactly that.
Every two months, a night will run for singles that allows guests to meet new people with no pressure. Each evening will have a theme, whether that's wine tasting, a quiz or games night, meaning the focus isn't purely on individuals and how they feel about pineapple on pizza (genuinely snooze inducing questions that tell you nothing).
The event will be run by Katy Rickitt, owner of Dexter & Jones bar, part time celebrant and full time lover of love, but also just someone who enjoys bringing people together. Anyone who's been to Dexters will know its greatest success is the long farmhouse table, where friendships have been forged and built on for years.
Her partner in crime is Giles Heckstall-Smith, one of Knutsford's most eligible bachelors and one of its most welcoming, fun loving people, who had a vision to create the experience singles actually want when it comes to making meaningful connections.
It's a big task, but between them, they reckon they can take it on.
The first event will be a quiz night on Thursday 15th October from 7pm. First drink is on the house. Click the button and join the club.
