Summer Programme of Fun

About

Summer Programme of Fun

From railway adventures and wildlife discoveries to crafts, creativity and hands-on history, Crewe Heritage Centre has a programme packed with fun this summer with six weeks of extra activities alongside the attraction's popular exhibitions, locomotives and family experiences.

One of the highlights of the programme will be the Centre's free Wednesday opening days, giving families the opportunity to enjoy creative workshops, wildlife activities, crafts and hands-on learning experiences at no cost throughout the school holidays.

Alongside the summer programme, visitors can enjoy all the attractions that make Crewe Heritage Centre one of the town's favourite family destinations.

From giant locomotives to miniature adventures, visitors can ride the miniature railway, explore detailed model railway layouts, discover powerful stories in the Crewe at War exhibition and get up close to iconic objects including the famous Whitby Morrison ice cream vans.

Families can also see the 8000th locomotive built at Crewe Works and the record-breaking APT-P, enjoy panoramic views from the elevated viewing platform overlooking the West Coast Main Line and Chester Line, and explore the Centre's historic signalling displays.

The site also features a café, shop and dedicated children's activity area.

The Centre will be open every Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday throughout the summer holidays, plus Bank Holiday Monday, from 10am to 4.30pm (last admission 3.30pm).
