Steam at the Lift

A mighty fleet of traction engines will be travelling from all over the country to congregate at Anderton Boat Lift, Cheshire's historic 'Cathedral of the Canals' near Northwich, on Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 May, for the spectacular annual 'Steam at the Lift' Festival.

The event is being hosted by the Canal & River Trust charity, as part of the Anderton Boat Lift's 150th Anniversary celebrations. Festival visitors will be able to enjoy a wide range of activities from 'Top of the World' guided tours of the lift, barbecue to Lego and face painting for children.

This fully accessible, covered trip boat provides the opportunity to see the Anderton Boat Lift from a unique perspective. Take in the scenery of the Weaver Navigation, once a busy commercial waterway, now a haven for wildlife.
