Spitting Feathers Beer Festival
This beer festival has become a July tradition at Spitting Feathers, and for good reason. They've got a fantastic venue at the Brewery Headquarters in Waverton, Chester, and they pull out all the stops to get the best local bands and entertainers to keep the party going.
Of course, it’s all about the beer! You won’t find more of their brews in one place anywhere else. They showcase a wide variety of their cask and keg beers and ciders on tap, all served up perfectly by an amazing volunteer crew. They know just how to pour the perfect pint!
But all that beer needs some good food to soak it up, right? That’s where the legendary hog roast comes in. They use pigs raised right there on the farm, fed on the spent brewery grains, and serve them up in delicious rolls from Wallis the Bakers in Saltney (seriously, these guys are amazing – check them out if you’re ever in the area!). Alll the classic festival fare is covered: pulled pork baps, veggie burgers, juicy spare ribs, and the best beef burgers in town from David Joinson Butchers.
And the best part? Each year the festival raises money for fantastic local and national charities. They’ve donated over £30,000 so far to organizations like The Hospice of the Good Shepherd, MacMillan Cancer Support, The Clatterbridge Cancer Charity, Cancer Research UK, and the RNLI. It’s a great way to enjoy some delicious beers, have a fun day out, and support some worthy causes all at the same time.
