About

Postcards from Rhyl

Postcards from Rhyl is a photography exhibition by artist Stephen Clarke, bringing together a series of striking photomontages that layer images of Rhyl across decades — capturing the promenade, the fairground, the lido and the long golden stretch of a North Wales summer holiday. Displayed in the Cathedral's Cloisters and Vestibule throughout Spirit of Summer, the exhibition is accompanied by display cases of family photographs and seaside artefacts, inviting visitors to share their own memories of holidays past. Whether your summers were spent in Rhyl, Llandudno or somewhere else entirely along the North Wales coast, Postcards from Rhyl is a tender and beautifully crafted celebration of a very particular kind of British summer.
