Pooches of Pride

Calling all dog lovers and pawrents from across Chester – you are invited to celebrate Pride with your four-legged friends at Pooches of Pride, a tail-wagging fun event taking place at Exchange Square, Chester Northgate, from 10am – 3pm.

Bringing together the spirit of Chester Pride with a shared love of dogs, Pooches of Pride promises an afternoon of entertainment, community and canine celebration for visitors and their furry companions.

Expect a pawsome day packed with treats, waggy tails, shopping and plenty of opportunities to make new furry friends. Whether your pup is a seasoned show dog or simply loves being the centre of attention, everyone is welcome at this dog-friendly celebration.

The highlight of the day will be the Pooches of Pride Dog Show, where Chester’s most fabulous canines can take centre stage and compete for some seriously fur-tastic prizes.

Categories include:

Work That Trick – Best Trick 
Still Serving Looks – Golden Oldie 
Puppy Realness – Cutest Pup 
Pup Couture – Best Dressed

The winner from each category will then go paw-to-paw in the grand finale for the coveted Best in Show title. Leading dog brands Denzel’s, Dog & Bond and KONG have generously donated prizes, with the overall winner taking home a KONG hamper worth £100. Every dog entered into the competition will receive a Denzel’s treat bag, because every good dog deserves a reward rite.

Better still, 50% of all dog show ticket sales will be donated to Pup Culture’s long-term charity partner, Manchester and Cheshire Dogs Home, helping support dogs in need across the region. Dog show tickets can be purchased via Eventbrite.

Keeping a close eye on the competition will be local dog-loving legends Digby & Champ from Chester Market’s much-loved dog store, who will be joined by Lucy from dog-friendly cinema Picturehouse Chester to judge the categories and crown Chester’s top dog.

Visitors can also browse a variety of local market traders, offering a range of dog-focused products, treats and accessories, while dogs will have the opportunity to enjoy delicious food samples from Butternut Box.

Whether you’re attending to enter the dog show, pick up some treats, or simply enjoy a day out with fellow dog lovers, Pooches of Pride offers something for everyone while celebrating inclusivity, community and pride.
