Hoole Community Christmas Lights Switch On Event

Hoole set to sparkle as Community Christmas Lights Switch on returns bigger and better for 2026!
Promising an afternoon of live entertainment, festive food and drink, family activities and community spirit.

Visitors can soak up the festive atmosphere with mulled wine, boozy hot chocolates and seasonal treats, while enjoying live local musicians performing on the outdoor stage. With a bar, delicious food and festive stalls to explore, there's plenty to enjoy whether you're visiting with family, meeting friends or simply looking to get into the Christmas spirit.

Younger visitors can look forward to Santa's Grotto, Elf Academy, marshmallow toasting around the fire pits, a Christmas post box for letters to Santa, a festive Kidz Quiz and a Christmas Jumper Parade that everyone is welcome to join.
The highlight of the afternoon will be the Hoole Christmas Lights Switch On at approximately 5pm, bringing the community together to welcome the festive season.

A Quieter Start for Everyone
For anyone who prefers to avoid the busiest crowds, the event will begin with a quieter hour from 12pm to 1pm.
With softer music, a calmer Santa's grotto and children's crafting activities, this relaxed first hour offers visitors of all ages the opportunity to enjoy the festivities at a gentler pace.

The event is about much more than switching on Christmas lights. It's a chance to bring neighbours, families and friends together while celebrating the local community and supporting Hoole's independent businesses.
Adult ticket holders will receive a wristband giving them access to special offers and discounts at participating Hoole businesses after the event, helping to spread the festive cheer throughout the neighbourhood.
