Rain or shine, there’s loads to do. Explore the garden and parkland with a walk card from the kiosk, splash through puddles and spot red deer, Highland cows and early signs of spring Pick up a £1 Wildlife Wander trail and use the built-in viewfinder to watch, draw, listen and solve puzzles along the way. Choose a flat, buggy-friendly route to Crow Wood play area for little legs, or pull on the wellies for a longer estate walk. Head indoors for our interactive family trail inspired by Walter Truelove, the Legh family’s “perfect butler”. Little ones can dress up as a housekeeper or hall boy, set the Dining Room table, clean the Grand Stairs or transform into a member of the family. (Closed Wednesdays) Finish with playtime at Crow Wood and a warming treat from the Timber Yard café. Admission fees apply, family tickets from £12.00 (house and gardens).
