Crewe Krazy Races to offer free shuttle bus for 2026 event with support from Crewe BID

Crewe Krazy Races is set to return on Sunday, May 24th with a free Discover Crewe shuttle bus service once again in place.

The service is funded by Crewe Business Improvement District (Crewe BID) and delivered through its Discover Crewe brands helping make travel to and from the event simple and accessible.

The UK’s largest touring soapbox derby will return to Crewe for a third time in partnership with Crewe Town Council and is expected to attract thousands of visitors into the town centre, with up to 15,000 spectators anticipated for a day packed with high-speed racing, family entertainment and community activities.

This year’s partnership goes beyond supporting access to the event, with a focus on encouraging visitors to make a full day of it in Crewe, enjoying the race before heading into the town centre to explore its mix of independent shops, bars and hospitality venues.

The Discover Crewe free shuttle service plays a vital role in ensuring Crewe Krazy Races remains a fully accessible, town-wide event, while also reducing congestion and supporting local residents.

Rose Horner, Crewe BID Manager, said:Krazy Races is one of the biggest events we see in Crewe each year, bringing thousands of people into the town. The Discover Crewe shuttle helps make the day easier to manage, while also encouraging visitors to spend time in the town centre and support local businesses.”

There will be no parking available on streets in or around the immediate event site on race day, and organisers are strongly advising visitors not to drive directly to the event area, instead using the shuttle service or public transport options.

The fully accessible park and ride shuttle service will operate throughout the day, running every 15 minutes from 10:15am between Crewe Multi-Storey Car Park on Delamere Street and Badger Avenue, opposite the event site and close to Crewe Bus Station and the town centre.

Visitors can also stop by the Krazy Races Putting Pit Stop, which has been funded and organised by Crewe BID, and play a game of free Krazy Golf in between shuttle buses.

With the pick-up point located next to the bus station and central parking facilities, visitors can travel into Crewe easily from surrounding areas and beyond, without needing to drive into the event zone.

Visitors are also encouraged to walk to the event, with anyone arriving having completed 5,000 steps or more able to claim a free event flag.

Danny Scoffin, Head of Brand & Strategic Development for Krazy Races, added: “We’re incredibly grateful to Crewe BID for their continued support. The shuttle service makes a huge difference, helping people access the event from across Crewe while also reducing traffic around the surrounding streets.”

Crewe Krazy Races will once again feature up to 20 local teams racing handmade soapboxes, alongside family entertainment, funfair rides, and community activity zones hosted by local charity The Joshua Tree.

With creativity, competition and community spirit at its heart, Crewe Krazy Races 2026 promises to be one of the town’s biggest and most exciting days of the year.
