1. Crafts with West Cheshire Museums

Head to the Grosvenor Museum this Tuesday and Thursday for free crafty activities. Get into the holiday mood and create a seaside in a box or get involved in a range of archaeology-themed activities on Wednesday.

Weaver Hall Museum also has free drop in craft activities on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday or you can build and decorate your own 3D castle at the Lion Salt Works on Wednesday and Thursday.

2. Victoria Park Experience (VPX), Warrington

Warrington’s much-loved family event, VPX (Victoria Park Experience), is making a welcome return this month - and this time, it’s going on tour.

The popular series of free family fun days, originally held in Victoria Park, will roll out across four locations throughout August.

Each event is completely free to attend and open to families. Activities will range from creative workshops and sports to live music, games and more!

3. Family Fest, Knutsford

Head to Knutsford this Sunday for a day of family fun. Expect fancy dress, face-painting, craft activities, characters, and games. Throughout the day, there will be a whole programme of activities for the family to enjoy, including alfresco dining on Minshull Street and outside Lost & Found on Princess Street, providing the perfect opportunity to take a break in the sunshine (hopefully!)

4. Deva Fest

This weekend, Deva Fest, one of Cheshire's best-loved family festivals, is back at Cholmondeley Castle Gardens. This is a great value family-friendly four-day extravaganza of music, comedy, camping, family entertainment, including the popular free-to-ride fairground, and fabulous handpicked food and drink stalls from local suppliers. It's Deva Fests' 5th birthday and to celebrate they have none other than US disco legend Gloria Gaynor, headlining. There will also be music from 90s pioneers, the Happy Mondays, Bros superstar Matt Goss, chart topping DJ Sigala and more!

5. In the Park: Animals Takeover
