A fine Palladian house designed by John Carr of York, built in 1761 for the Leicester family, who lived at Tabley for 700 years.

The 1st collection of English paintings ever made hang in the rooms for which they were created. Artists represented include Lely, Turner, Lawrence and other English masters. Furniture by Gillow, Bullock and Chippendale. Includes a 17th century chapel which was moved from an island in 1927 due to brine pumping and re-erected adjacent to the house.

A TV and film location for various productions, most recent credits include Peaky Blinders, The Black Prince, Antiques Roadtrip, The Forsyth Saga and Flog it!

Also available for weddings and civil partnerships and corporate hire.

The collection is fully accessible via separate entrance and lift for those with mobility impairment.

Road Directions

From M6, jct 19 take A556 south towards Chester, approximately 1 mile, at first set of lights, branch left for Knutsford. Tabley House is a few hundred yards on the right.
