5 Things to do this Week - 30th June - 7th July 2025
Looking for something fun to do? Here are 5 fantastic things to do in Cheshire this week. Another week chock full of fantastic festivals!
1. Festival of Ideas, Chester
The Chester Festival of Ideas is back and it’s bigger, bolder, and more brilliant than ever! After a hugely successful debut in 2024, the festival returns this week with four exciting days packed full of inspiration, learning, and celebration. This year’s star-studded lineup includes Paralympic legend Hannah Cockroft OBE, a seven-time gold medalist, and fearless former BBC chief news correspondent Kate Adie CBE. Hosted by the University of Chester and its partners, the festival promises another unforgettable experience featuring nearly 100 completely free events across the four days.

2. Crewe Day Festival
Get ready for another fantastic, family friendly free event, this time taking place across 4 days in Crewe town centre.
The main event day of the festival takes place on Saturday 5th July between 12pm and 6pm and will feature:
A fantastic carnival procession of 13ft tall Carnival Queen puppets from Global Grooves, alongside the community cast performers from Dope Dance Crewe, Wilderness Tribe and Dance to Health!
A parade of the Giant Wheel from Autin Dance, accompanied by the community cast from Hopes & Beams and Camm Street Gymnastics.
3. Womanifest, Northwich
Womanifest, the UK’s leading empowerment and well-being festival for women and girls, is back this weekend with inspiring talks, workshops, yoga, music, and more. The personal development, wellbeing & empowerment festival celebrates all things feminine & womanly. Blending fun, self-discovery, and community connection.
In the main festival arena there will be workshops, activities and entertainment from women from all walks of life, fabulous performances – comedians, singers, dancers etc, yoga and meditation sessions, a pamper tent for spa treatments, great food & drinks on offer, silent disco with an epic EMPOWER HOUR, liberating experiences like walking on hot coals or broken glass, a bit of retail therapy from an array of stalls of female led businesses selling products and services for women and so much more!

4. Brit Fest
Get ready—The Brit Fest is back and turning up the volume for an epic three-day celebration of music, memories, and non-stop fun! This year’s festival is bigger, better, and bursting with energy, featuring an incredible line-up of legendary acts and crowd-favourites. Rock out with indie superband Razorlight, sing along to chart-toppers Toploader, and relive the 90s with Republica and The Boo Radleys. Feel the groove with Roachford, soak up the classics from 10cc, UB40, and Midge Ure, and get ready to belt out “The One and Only” with none other than Chesney Hawkes. Three days. All the hits. Pure British music magic you simply can’t miss!
5. Hide & Seek Festival, Capesthorne Hall
Step into the heart of Cheshire’s lush, 100‑acre estate at Capesthorne Hall, where historic Jacobean architecture meets three serene lakes and picturesque gardens. Nestled in the magical Mill Wood, Hide & Seek brings together the best of underground minimal house, techno, and disco for a truly immersive experience.
Expect earth‑shaking beats from some of the scene’s most respected names, alongside stellar AV production and artsy installations that elevate it from festival to unforgettable sensory journey. It’s a celebration of sound, light, and nature—all wrapped into one breathtaking weekend.
Whether you’re an electronic music devotee or simply up for a wild weekend in the woods, don’t miss getting lost in the rhythm!
