The Tale of The Loneliest Whale

New Family Show from Hoglets Theatre Explores Neurodiversity Through a Whale’s Song.

The Tale of the Loneliest Whale is the latest production from Hoglets Theatre – a family play full of puppetry, original music and oceanic adventure.

It’s inspired by the true story of the 52Hz whale – a creature whose unusual call left it isolated from other whales. Scientists dubbed it “the loneliest whale in the world”. It’s a moving story about difference, connection, and the beauty of being yourself.

It’s also deeply personal. As parents to a neurodiverse child, and through workshops with hundreds of children and adults, both neurodiverse and neurotypical, we’ve created a show that gently explores what it means to feel out of step with the world. It’s funny, poignant, and full of hope.

On top of that, it’s environmentally conscious too. Every puppet is made from recycled or found materials – including a sea turtle made from a car hubcap!

Join Hoglets Theatre for an exciting deep-sea adventure packed with beautiful puppets, hilarious sea creatures, original songs, and lots of audience interaction! The Tale of the Loneliest Whale is a magical, interactive show that celebrates friendship, difference, and the beauty of being yourself.
