Behind the Scenes Tours: The Lyceum Theatre
Go behind-the-scenes at Cheshire’s historic theatre. You’ll explore the Grade II listed auditorium and go backstage to see areas normally only open to performers!
Discover the rich history and hidden corners of Cheshire’s only Edwardian theatre on this exclusive Heritage Open Day “all access” tour. Go behind the scenes at the Crewe Lyceum and explore areas usually off-limits to the public, including the backstage get in, dressing rooms, and technical spaces where the magic happens.
Visit the Lyceum Studio, once home to English Touring Theatre and stand on the historic stage to see the auditorium from a performer’s perspective, just as stars like Stan Laurel, Charlie Chaplin, and Richard Beckinsale once did before rising to fame.
This is a rare chance to delve into the inner workings of a live theatre and uncover the stories behind one of South Cheshire’s most treasured heritage venues.
Tours run 10am - 11am, 12pm - 1pm and 2pm - 3pm
