An evening with Georgie Codd – Never Had a Dad: Adventures in Fatherlessness
"A dating quest with a difference" — The Times "[A] strange, touching but often very funny account of one woman's search for a father figure" — Daily Mail "So interesting, so funny, so moving... I am raving about it to people" — Katherine Angel "A tale of fathers, daughters and missing pieces" — BBC World Service Meet non-fiction author Georgie Codd. Having grown up in a lone-parent household, she assumed she'd never know what it would be like to have a dad. But at the tender age of 31, a stranger's practical joke made her think differently. At the start of 2019, Georgie began a weird and wonderful search for father figures — placing 'dadverts' in newspapers, magazines and across the depths of the internet. Through meetings, conversations and first-hand experiences, she set about exploring what she'd missed — and working out how to get it. Hear Georgie's astonishing story in a special talk at Nantwich Bookshop as she describes the ups and downs of her project, signing copies of her latest book, Never Had a Dad: Adventures in Fatherlessness. Tickets are £15 for one or £20 for two, and include a welcome drink along with a copy of Never Had a Dad.
