There is masses to see and do this Christmas in Cheshire with inspiring events and more than a sprinkle of magic to enjoy across the county. From light extravaganzas and opportunities to meet Santa and his elves, ride the North Pole Express and rub noses with snow-whiskered animals; children of all ages are sure to be entertained.  There are plenty of festive markets to choose from to pick out some special gifts.

This November, Chester Heritage Festival presents 'Rowvember', an exciting month-long celebration dedicated to Chester's famous medieval Rows. Throughout November, this unique initiative will shine a spotlight on the history, heritage, and vibrant business community that makes Chester's Rows a treasured architectural marvel.

Chester BID is excited to announce a spectacular line-up of festive activities for 2024 aimed at spreading Christmas cheer, supporting local businesses, and ensuring a vibrant visitor experience throughout the city. From magical grottos and marmalade-loving bears to captivating parades and parking incentives, Chester’s Christmas celebrations promise to be bigger and better than ever.


 

The festivities don’t have to stop between Christmas and New Year's in Chester. There’s a lot going on this Twixmas in the city including spectacular shows, sumptuous dining, festive films, indulgent spa escapes, and, of course, those Boxing Day deals.

There’s no shortage of things to do and see this Christmas, with light displays, performances and several opportunities to give Santa your Christmas list.  

Cascading purple poppies commemorating the role played by animals in war will be on display with traditional red poppy highlights at Cheshire Military Museum from November 7th. 

Mars, Luke Jerram’s mesmerising planetary art installation, moves into a new orbit at Norton Priory Museum and Gardens in Runcorn, Cheshire, after Christmas for a six week visit from Tuesday 28 January to Sunday 9 March 2025.

It’s the run up to 5 November and no doubt people are planning to celebrate the occasion with family and friends.

Exclusive new flavours in the world’s largest ice cream shop; free entry to Europe's biggest indoor sand and water play area; and an inclusive Santa’s Grotto and Elves’ Workshop are set to make Christmas at The Ice Cream Farm a unique family-friendly experience this festive season.
