Cheshire Parks & Nature Reserves

Cheshire is a wonderful, varied county, stretching from the internationally important Dee estuary, to the windswept moors of Cheshire's Peak District. In between there is a rich mosaic of agricultural land, woodland and lowland heath interlaced with rivers and canals.

Experience wild Tegg’s Nose Country Park, with its breathtaking views across Cheshire’s Peak District. Or meander through the leafy paths at Marbury Country Park, carpeted with bluebells in spring and with magnificent avenues of Lime trees providing stately grandeur all year round.

At Brereton Heath Local Nature Reserve, a former silica sand quarry near Congleton, you can enjoy a variety of walks, including an easy access trail through the woodland with restful views over the lake. Look out for birds and butterflies on the way, including the bright yellow brimstones.

There are also other open areas, such as the magnificent parklands owned by the National Trust, providing opportunities to enjoy some of our finest historic landscapes.
