About

Stephen Lewis Photography Exhibition

Stephen Lewis FRPS (Fellow of the Royal Photographic Society) was a landscape photographer specialising in the Welsh landscape and Snowdonia in particular. Stephen’s award-winning panel of twelve outstanding images, which earned him the coveted achievement of Associateship from the Welsh Photographic Federation, will be displayed in the Community Gallery.

Stephen Lewis has been photographing in the landscape for over 40 years. Closely associated with the Snowdonia National Park in particular, his knowledge and understanding of the area allowed him to produce images unrivalled in their portrayal of the ephemeral light and wild atmosphere of that special part of the world. He said, “The landscape is every bit as wonderful and every bit as magical as you can imagine, and all that’s needed is that you be in the right place at the right time to bear witness.” In addition to the panel of prints there will be a beautiful looping programme of timelapse landscapes. Mounted copies of other Stephen Lewis images and books will be available for sale in the museum shop, the proceeds going to the Hospice of the Good Shepherd, Chester.

The museum is open from 10.00am - 4.00pm (Tuesday - Saturday). Entry is free to the museum and exhibition.
