A host of family favourites are heading to Parr Hall in 2025 as part of a new push to make the Warrington venue more welcoming to young theatre-goers.
The historic concert hall is best known for gigs and stand-up shows, having hosted music legends like James and The Courteeners and comedy icons such as John Bishop and Michael McIntyre.
But the Parr Hall team have recently been adding more children’s shows to the programme to introduce youngsters to the joy and unique experience of live performance.
Among the colourful line-up for youngsters this year are new productions such as Natural History Museum's awe-inspiring first theatrical tour Dinosaurs Live, which comes to Warrington on 13 September.
Elsewhere, McFly and The Voice UK star Tom Fletcher has had a hand in two of Parr Hall’s performances – There's a Monster in Your Show and The Dinosaur That Pooped a Rock Show.
Both are based on Tom’s popular books and will be leaping from page to stage on 26 to 27 April and 27 October respectively.
There are some returning favourites too including Science Museum Live on 13 April, Fireman Sam on 24 May, Milkshake! Live on 31 July and the hugely popular Taylor Swift tribute Taylormania on 18 December.
Chris Persoglio, Executive Director for Culture Warrington, the arts charity that runs Parr Hall, said: “We want Parr Hall to be as welcoming, family friendly and community focused as possible. That’s why we’re doing a big push this year on children’s performances at our historic venue.
“As you can see from our line-up for 2025, we’ve got a whole host of family favourites from new shows like Dinosaurs Live to returning favourites like Fireman Sam.
“We’re also very aware that, for some youngsters, a visit to Parr Hall will be their first taste of live performance and it makes our team proud we’re playing a role in entertaining and inspiring future generations.”
Mark Thompson specialises in shows for children and families through his company Mark Thompson Productions, and works with Parr Hall on a regular basis.
He added: “We are delighted to once again team up with Parr Hall to offer up a host of brilliant and varied shows for 2025 that will spark the imagination of all the family.
“This year, we’re particularly proud to be working alongside the Natural History Museum for its first theatrical tour where the likes of a Tyrannosaurus Rex will be stomping onto stage in Dinosaurs Live.
“Elsewhere, Fireman Sam will be saving the day, a vivid parade of childhood heroes return in Milkshake Live! and the ever popular Science Museum Live is back with a bang.
“We’re even working alongside McFly’s Tom Fletcher and Dougie Poynter to bring their beloved ‘Dinosaur that Pooped…’ series to the stage. We can’t wait for you and your family to join us.”
