As we head deep into January, we’ve put together a list of our top things to see and do across the county this week.
1) The Paint Republic Paint Party
This Tuesday head to Telford's Warehouse in Chester to paint and party! This is not your usual paint class. Not painted at all or since school? Why not try it again but this time in a fun, judgement-free and relaxed environment?
A fun evening of painting, banter and music, hosted by a professional artist; who will help you unleash your creativity by loosely instructing you how to paint a picture chosen for the event. Absolutely no experience is necessary and all materials are provided. Free-stylin's encouraged and beginners are welcome, get loose and get creative! Book here ->
2) The Battle of Nantwich
This Thursday evening head to Nantwich Museum for a talk about the '1644: The Battle of Nantwich'. Then on Saturday it's the battle itself.
When Civil War broke out in 1642, Nantwich declared support for the Parliamentarians against the Royalists. On the 25th of January 1644 a major battle broke out in Nantwich. The Parliamentarians were victorious and hundreds of Royalist prisoners were captured. Every year the Sealed Knot Society parade through the town in costume and re-enact this historic battle (Holy Holly Day) on Mill Island. A great day out for all the family with lots of activities and street entertainment around the town. Find out more ->
