Calling all teachers! BeWILDerwood is excited to announce the launch of its ‘Twig or Treat’ School Competition, inviting Key Stage 1 (KS1) and Key Stage 2 (KS2) children to unleash their creativity and win a school class trip to BeWILDerwood Cheshire or BeWILDerwood Norfolk*. With Halloween fast approaching, this competition adds an extra sprinkle of magic to the autumn term, giving schools the chance to immerse their students in the enchanting world of BeWILDerwood.
How to Enter:
The competition is open to KS1 and KS2 students, as well as nurseries, child minders, home educators, and youth groups such as Rainbows, Beavers, Brownies, and Scouts. There are two exciting activities for each age group:
KS1:
Colour in the Twig or Treat Halloween Door – Young artists can bring BeWILDerwood’s special Halloween door to life with their own designs.
KS2:
Create and Design a Unique Door – Older children can dream up their own door and write a special spell to unlock its mysteries.
Both activity sheets can be downloaded here: https://bit.ly/3XG1iD1
Schools can submit their students' entries via email to marketing@bewilderwood.co.uk or by posting them directly to the relevant BeWILDerwood park. All entries must include the name of the school or group and the chosen park they would like to visit – BeWILDerwood Cheshire or BeWILDerwood Norfolk.
Prizes:
One lucky KS1 class and one KS2 class from each BeWILDerwood park will win a magical school trip for up to 30 children. Whether you’re in a school class, nursery, childminding group, or scout group, adventure awaits! Winners will enjoy a full day of storytelling, outdoor exploration, and interactive play, surrounded by the curious characters of BeWILDerwood in a magical woodland setting.
The school trip prize is valid until 31st October 2025, so there’s plenty of time to plan your trip!
Dates and Details:
The competition runs from 25th September to 8th November 2024, and the winners will be contacted via email after the 8th November 2024. All entries must be submitted by the closing date, and winners will need to book their school trips in advance.
About the BeWILDerwood Halloween Event:
The competition ties in with BeWILDerwood’s new Halloween event, Twig or Treat at he Glorious Glowing Lantern Parade. New for this year, the already loved Halloween event will have a unique twist on traditional trick-or-treating and families are encouraged to dress up and enjoy a safe, fun-filled evening in the woods.
The competition gives children the chance to extend the Halloween magic by creating their own part of the BeWILDerwood story – just like the characters that come to life during this seasonal celebration.
As well as a chance to win a school trip, BeWILDerwood have also provided teachers with a whole host of wet day activities, which can be found on their website.
