The Port is the place for Family Fun

Next door to the boat museum you can discover your artistic side at Charley’s Ceramics, where you can paint your own unique ceramic pottery at one of the craft workshops. It’s a great way to share some family time, and you can enjoy an ice cream or a crepe there too! For little ones who don’t tend to sit still long, then The Fun Factory play centre is another good option for letting off steam. And once you’ve exhausted all of those indoor activities on rainy days, there’s an array of outdoor fun to be had. Ellesmere Port has some truly fabulous green spaces. Rivacre Country Park, Stanney Woods and Whitby Park are all a must visit, especially in the summer. The latter even boasts Whitby Hall which regularly hosts theatre performances for the whole family to enjoy. Or why not visit a working farm for the day at Bridge Community Farm on Mill Lane. And if you venture a couple of miles further afield you can also sample some sweet treats at the family run Backford Belles ice-cream farm, or visit the animals at Hayrack Church Farm.
