With all the excitement of this year’s Christmas season in Chester, you may need some inspiration for where to get your festive fill. Chester is renowned for its many great restaurants, and they are made even more special with yuletide menus. We thought we’d give you a few suggestions on where to find a great festive menu in Chester.
The Glynne Arms, Hawarden
Just over the border into North Wales you will find the Glynne Arms, a welcoming, cosy pub in the heart of historic Hawarden Village. All the menus change seasonally and are created by Head Estate Chef Adam Williams to champion fruit and veg grown just a stone's throw from the pub istself. The Christmas menu is no exception, choose from 2 courses for £35 or three courses for £42. With Caramelised celeriac soup, prawn cocktail or duck leg and apricot terrine to start, beetroot and mushroom wellington, pan roasted hake, free range turkey or Welsh PGI beef wellington for main and salted caramel apple tarte tatin, chocolate fondant and of course good old Christmas pudding and brandy sauce for dessert. The Forge, Hotel Indigo
Looking for somewhere to dine in Chester this festive season? Where better than the Forge, recently re-awarded 2 rosettes from the AA. From 25th November until 24th December you can enjoy a delicious three-course meal at lunchtime or in the evening for just £45 per person. The festive feast includes such delicious dishes as gammon shank and pork neck pressing, cured chalk stream trout and Heirloom squash tart to start. Merrifield duck breast, cranberry and orange turkey roulade and crapaudine beetroot for mains and spiced creme brulee, white chocolate mousse and sticky ginger pudding to finish. The ever-stylish and innovative La Brasserie at The Chester Grosvenor is made all the more special this Christmas with their festive food. From 2 - 23rd December, you can feast on their 3-course festive menu, compiled carefully by La Brasserie’s award-winning chefs. Palm Court & Nelson's Bar
You have your pick of where to enjoy some festive fayre at the stunning Grosvenor Pulford Hotel and Spa. Both Palm Court and Nelson’s Bar are offering festive menus from 29th November - 30th December – perfect for getting together with friends and family this season. At Palm Court you can indulge in festive dishes like a Cumin-spiced squash, spinach and puy lentil Wellington, prosciutto-wrapped, butter-roasted turkey escalope, and salted caramel and dark chocolate tarte. And at Nelson’s Bar there’s favourites like honey roasted parsnip soup, slow cooked beef feather blade, and of course, some traditional Christmas pudding. Artezzan
